Implant Dentures Sacramento, CA
A solution for those with loose or poor fitting dentures.
The biggest problem reported by denture wearers is a loose fit—a denture constantly slipping out of place. The best solution for individuals with a poor fitting denture is an implant-retained denture. Implants for denture wearers provide the strongest possible hold. Denture implants can be perfect replacements for people who have lost all their natural teeth, but they are not ideal for everyone.
Implant patients must have adequate bone to support the implant and good oral hygiene to prevent infection of the implant. Once it is established that the patient is a good candidate new denture impressions are taken and surgery is scheduled.
Titanium screws are implanted into the jaw. The exposed parts of the implants are fitted with attachments that will eventually attach to the denture. Through a process called Osseointegration, the bones slowly grow into the grooves of the implant, making a strong, permanent hold in the jawbone. The implant denture also has attachments which hold it to the implants. Implant dentures are able to withstand heavy chewing, they function almost like natural teeth, and they provide the closest possible fit.
